Maya – Indefinable Ignorance

Maya, the veil of undefinable ignorance, is the cosmic illusion that shrouds reality, binding the soul to the transient world of appearances. It is neither real nor unreal, for it lacks an independent existence yet holds sway over perception, creating the mirage of duality and separation. Maya distorts the infinite, presenting it as finite, leading us to identify with the ephemeral—our body, mind, and desires—while veiling the eternal truth of our cosmic essence.
This ignorance, neither tangible nor comprehensible, traps the mind in cycles of attachment and aversion, perpetuating suffering. To pierce through Maya is not to destroy it, for it is not a separate entity, but to dissolve its influence through self-realization. Only by transcending the illusions of the external world and turning inward can one glimpse the unchanging truth, the eternal light beyond the shadows cast by Maya.
